Yes, this year I shall be making my second attempt at NaNoWriMo (having failed an attempt in 2006). For those who don’t know, it’s a kind of gathering of crazy internet-folks who all vow to write a 50,000 word novel within the month of November. Over 100,000 people took part last time, and 15% finished a novel. That means, due to the event, 15,000 novels were written in a month that would likely never have been written otherwise. The idea is to get people writing, an even if it’s a bunch of crazy crap, it’s still a 50,000 word novel that’s bound to have some content of worth.
Less than 2000 words a day, and I’ll make it. I can do that, even if it ends up being 90% complete and utter gibberish (likely).
I have developed a sort of a plot for my novel, or at least the first act of it, and it currently goes by the working title of Lacerta Imperator Universum. So, when it’s done, if I either get to the 50K mark or run out of steam and give up, I will post it y’all can read it and cry yourself to death.
